Man dies in Cork dairy factory incident

A man has died after being crushed at a dairy factory in west Cork.

The incident happened between 10-10.30am at Clona Dairies in Clonakilty.

It is understood the man suffered crush injuries after he was struck by an articulated lorry shunting unit used to move trailers.

He died at the scene and his body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out.

Both the Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have begun separate investigations.
