Shankill and Rush fires under investigation in Dublin

Investigations are underway into the cause of two separate fires in Dublin.

Several units of Dublin Fire Brigade worked late into the night to bring blazes at three large derelict houses in a housing estate in Shankill under control.

Poor water pressure in the area is believed to have impeded efforts to control the blaze.

Emergency services were initially called to the scene at around 8.30pm.

At around the same time, up to four units of the fire brigade attended another large fire at a derelict house in Rush in North Dublin.

No one was injured in either incident.
