Police and the North's Orange orders have said they hope the annual Twelfth of July celebrations will pass off peacefully.

Thousands are expected to take part in over 800 parades with many more expected to watch the spectacle marking the victory of protestant King William of Orange’s victory over Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
