The first chapter of Harper Lee's long-lost second novel has appeared online.

The book, described as a parent to the famous 'To Kill A Mockingbird', which has featured on the Junior Cert syllabus, was found in 2011 - fifty-one years after the original book's release.

The opening chapter of 'Go Set A Watchman' picks up 20 years on from the events of the first book, with an adult Scout Finch taking a train journey to Maycomb, Alabama.

The novel is due to be published in full next Tuesday.
