Formal investigation launched into Berkeley balcony tragedy

A formal investigation has been launched into the balcony collapse in Berkeley, in which six young people died.

An interim City of Berkeley report found that severe dry rot weakened the wooden supports of the balcony. However, the City of Berkeley confirmed on Tuesday that no person or entity was being investigated, and that their investigation was now closed.
