Two arrested after shots fired at Gardaí in Kildare
 Gardaí have arrested two men in their early 20s during an incident in Co. Kildare at around 1am this morning.
The officers were trying to stop a car when shots were fired at armed gardaí at Clonmoyle, Rathangan.
Gardaí pursued the car and both men were arrested a short distance away.
No shots were fired by the officers and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Both men are being held at Leixlip Garda Station under Section 30, of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939/1998, and can be detained for up to 72 hours.
The scene at Clonmoyle between Rathangan and Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, has been sealed off and diversions are in place.
