The High Court action being taken against the introduction of free GP care for children under six has been withdrawn.

The Minister for Health says over 70% of family doctors have signed up to the scheme, which comes into effect on July 1.

Leo Varadkar and the Minister for Primary Care Kathleen Lynch have welcomed the ending of the High Court action, which was initiated by a GP from Co Clare.
