Motorcyclist dies in Wicklow Gap collision

Gardaí in Co Wicklow are investigating after a motorcyclist died in a road crash at the Wicklow Gap.

It happened on the R756 road between Hollywood Village and the King's River Bridge at approximately 12 midday today.

The 51-year-old man was seriously injured after his motor cycle collided with an embankment.

He was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital where he later died.

The road is currently closed between Hollywood Village and the Kingriver Bridge to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them at Blessington Garda Station.
