Two due in court after armed robbery in Clontarf

Two men are due to appear in court later charged in connection with an armed robbery of a shop in Clontarf in Dublin.

A female staff member was threatened with a gun by raiders who entered a shop on Stiles Road at around 7.45am on Thursday morning.

No shots were fired in the incident, though damage was caused to the front of the shop.

Two men were arrested in a nearby building a short time after the incident, and a firearm and a sum of cash recovered .

The pair will appear at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Parkgate Street, in Dublin this morning.
