Man 'drove himself to hospital after chest stabbing'

A young man is reported to be fighting for his life after he was stabbed in the chest - and drove himself to hospital for treatment.

The Irish Independent reports the 26-year-old man from Coolock drove himself to Beaumont Hospital around 7am.

It is understood the man is in surgery.

Gardaí are investigating any possible connections between the stabbing and an incident that occurred earlier this morning in the Darndale area.
