Limerick man dies in New York construction accident
An investigation is underway after an Irishman was killed by a collapsing crane in New York City.
The 40-year-old Limerick native is believed to have been working at the construction site when the crane collapsed onto a truck yesterday afternoon, trapping him.
Efforts were made to rescue the man – however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said they are "ready to provide consular assistance" to the man's family, if requested.
