Elderly woman arrested after disruptive behaviour forced flight to land

An elderly woman has been arrested after the flight on which she was travelling was forced to divert to Shannon Airport this evening.

It is understood that the 79-year-old woman became disruptive on board the transatlantic jet and that at least one cabin crew member was assaulted.
