Syndicate of two claim €10.6m Lotto winnings with Quick Pick ticket

A delighted family syndicate of two from Co. Meath have collected their €10,650,121 Lotto winnings today.

They won the huge jackpot on Easter Saturday after buying a €4 Quick Pick in Trim, Co. Meath.

“Don’t forget to buy a Lotto ticket, it’s a rollover! That was the reminder I got last Saturday before I went out to get some shopping. I might never have bought the ticket if it wasn’t for that!,” said one of the lucky winners who thanked the other winner for the reminder.

The ticket was bought in Souhan’s Filling Station, Haggard Street, Trim, Co. Meath.

“I was watching Match of the Day that evening and thought, I better check that ticket, so I looked up the results on Teletext. I just couldn't believe it!

"I looked up at the numbers and down at the ticket, over and over and over again.

The winners, who have decided to remain private, said they haven't had much sleep since because of the excitement.

“That night it was all rolling around in my head and I couldn’t sleep but since then I’ve been buzzing!”

The two winners celebrated with a glass of champagne and spoke of their plans.

They said: "We’ll help out our family, pay off our mortgages, get a new car or two, but most of all, we intend to enjoy it. We’re just so happy. It feels like life has just begun and the possibilities are endless,” they smiled.

This is the second Lotto jackpot to be won this year. Last month, a syndicate of two from Newbridge, Co. Kildare collected their jackpot prize of €10,230,559, which they won on February 5, 2015.
