FF wants Kincora Boys Home included in UK-wide abuse inquiry

Fianna Fáil is calling for the Kincora Boys Home in Belfast to be included in a UK-wide inquiry into sexual abuse.

The party says the current investigation does not go far enough and it wants allegations of trafficking of children from the North included.

Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Brendan Smith, said that horrific allegations have come to light in recent years and they need to be dealt with urgently.

"Well, it was a residential home for young boys going back over many decades - and at the moment there's a very limited jurisdictional inquiry," he said.

"That's not enough when we have allegations, very serious allegations, and a person has come forward and spoken publicly in regard to being trafficked from Belfast to London."
