Irish troops expected home after deployment in Golan Heights

Around 100 members of the Defence Forces will return home today following a six-month deployment to the Golan Heights.

The troops - who form part of the 46th infantry group - will be met by family and friends when they arrive at Dublin Airport tonight.

The soldiers, who are mainly from the West and Midlands, will be replaced by members of the 48th Infantry group.
