New food origin labelling rules start today

Country of origin labelling of all poultry, sheep and pigmeat becomes mandatory from today.

All of these meats being sold will have to display information on where they were produced.

The labels will include details about where the meat has come from, where it was slaughtered and prepared.

Beef is already covered by a similar directive.
