Opinion poll reveals more support for the Government

Another opinion poll is showing a significant recovery in support for the coalition.

The RED C poll for tomorrow's Sunday Business Post also shows almost half of voters fear a change of Government might stall the economic recovery.

Tomorrow's poll is the second in recent days showing a real change in public opinion towards the coalition.

Fine Gael are up 3 points to 27% - the highest level of support for the party in a year.

Labour also go up 3 to 10% - again it is been a year since the party had double digit support.

Fianna Fáil support remains unchanged at 18%, while Sinn Féin support falls by four points to 17%, with the poll coming in the wake of further sex abuse allegations.

Independents and Others come in at 28% down 2 points - that figure also includes support for Renua Ireland on 2%.

This poll shows confidence in the Government parties to manage the public finances with almost half of all voters saying they are worried that a change in government might stall the economic recovery.

However, two-thirds of voters added they have not personally felt the benefit of the economic recovery.

Meanwhile 62% believe that with the recession over Ireland needs a new government to deliver a fairer society.
