Dublin gardaí seize €38,000 worth of cigarettes and cannabis

Thousands of cigarettes, packets of tobacco and cannabis have been seized in Dublin.

The seizure was made on Friday when a car was stopped on Western Way.

Two men were searched during the operation and €500 worth of cannabis herb was discovered.

During a follow-up search of two properties in the Dublin area, gardaí seized 60,000 cigarettes and 800 packets of tobacco pouches worth €38,000.

Two men, a 37- and 28-year-old, were arrested and taken to Store Street garda station.

They were later released and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
