Tallaght Hospital visiting restrictions lifted except for ACU

Temporary visiting restrictions introduced recently at Tallaght Hospital have been lifted with the exception of visitors to patients in the Acute Medical Unit.

The daily visiting hours for the Adult Hospital are from 2-4pm and 6.30-8.30pm.

"During these visiting times, only two visitors are allowed per patient," a statement from the hospital read.

"In the National Children's Hospital Parents have unrestricted visiting.

As is normal practice, visits to patients in the Intensive and Coronary Care Units are restricted.

"Contact must be made in advance with the nurses in charge of the Units for approval to visit. Visitors suffering from colds, flu or infections are asked not to visit the hospital.

Tallaght Hospital's CEO, David Slevin stated: "I would like to thank the community for their cooperation in respecting our restricted visiting arrangements.

"These restrictions were introduced in the interest of patients and visitors and they have been effective.

"We would ask visitors to the hospital to adhere to our normal visiting times and arrangements which are designed with hospital services and patient privacy in mind."
