€525k of heroin seized in St Patrick's Day search

Three and a half kilograms of heroin have been seized in Dublin.

Seven blocks of the drug, worth an estimated €525,000, were recovered during the search of a house at Swan Grove in Ranelagh yesterday evening.

A man and a woman aged in their 40s were arrested at the scene.

The woman has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

The man is being held at Kevin Street Garda station.
