Man dies in Sligo road incident

A man in his 80s has died following a crash in County Sligo yesterday afternoon.

He was a passenger in a car which was involved in a collision with a van at Lufnadeffa, Ballysadare at 12.20am.

A woman in her 80s, who was driving the car, and the van driver, who is in his 50s, were taken to Sligo Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

A post mortem will take place on the dead man's body today, and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact them.
