Calls to open 'ghost' train station near Lucan
There have been calls to open a “ghost train station” in West Dublin.
Kishogue Station near Lucan has been lying idle since it was built seven years ago at a cost of €6.35 million euro.
Irish Rail said they have not received the funding from the National Transport Authority to build an access road and car park for it.
The area around the station was supposed to be developed into housing and schools under the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone, but that is on hold.
Local Fine Gael Councillor William Lavelle is calling on all sides to open the station before the Phoenix Park tunnel opens to commuter traffic next year.
