The Association of Secondary School Teachers has said the increase in school inspections is a welcome opportunity to highlight the lack of resources in schools.

It follows reports in the media today which says teaching standards are under increased scrutiny because of the greater number of inspections.

Inspectors have found some schools where sex education is still not being taught and one Gaelscoil that taught inaccuracies in spoken Irish.
