Kerry Mountain Rescue Team find two walkers safe and well

Two people have been located safe and well after getting lost while out walking on the Mangerton mountain Range in Co. Kerry this afternoon.

At around 3pm the local Mountain Rescue team were contacted by the walkers and 30 members of the team were dispatched.

Strong winds and cloud hampered the search, but at 7.30pm they were found uninjured.

Damien Courtney of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team said: "We launched a search at about 4pm and at about 7.30pm this evening the two walkers were located at a lake in Horse's Glen on the Mangerton Mountain range.

"Both individuals are uninjured and are being walked off the mountain by Kerry Mountain Rescue Team at present. We expect them to be down off the mountain by about 9.30pm."
