Fisherman airlifted from fishing vessel off Mizen Head

An injured fisherman has been airlifted to hospital in Cork.

The Air Corps assisted in the operation this afternoon, in response to a request from the Coast Guard.

The crewman was winched from a fishing vessel around 200 miles south-west of Mizen Head.

The injured man was taken to Cork airport, from where he was transferred to hospital.
