Teachers' unions to consider new Junior Cycle proposals

Teachers' unions say they have agreed to consider new proposals on the implementation of Junior Cycle reform.

Both the ASTI and the TUI have been meeting with Department of Education officials at talks chaired by Dr Pauric Travers.

The unions say they will consider Dr Travers' proposals for reform, on the condition that they are non-binding.

The Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan said she welcomed the development, and looked forward to getting the new proposals.
