200 jobs announced for Monaghan

200 new jobs have been announced in Monaghan at Combilift, a forklift and heavy load carrier.
Most of the positions will be for skilled technicians and design engineers, and will be hired for over the next five years.
The company is investing €40m in a new state of the art facility. The 40,000 square metre premises will include a manufacturing facility with a devoted Research and Development building and adjoining back office facilities.
An additional 200 jobs will be created during the construction work.
Combilift currently employs over 300 people at its current facilities in Monaghan town and Clontibret.
The Minister for Jobs said Combilift was the type of company the Government had targeted in the Action Plan for Jobs.
"This is a truly strong company … they're global, 99% exports, in engineering, in a regional location, they're involved in R&D … now they've the ambition to double in size."
Meanwhile, Bose workers in Monaghan are meeting with the Minister for Jobs today to discuss the losses at the plant in Carrickmacross.
