Government approves legislation on data protection for new post code system

The Government has approved draft legislation aimed at addressing concerns around data protection in the new post code system.

Minister for Communications Alex White, said the Government had approved the draft legislation for Eircodes, which will be introduced later this year.

It is after the Data Protection Commissioner advised the government that the postcode project should have its own data protection legislation.
