Visiting restrictions continue at St James's Hospital

An outbreak of flu has caused visiting restrictions at St James's Hospital in Dublin.

The hospital is asking friends and family of patients to defer all non-essential visits this week.

No children will be admitted and only one visitor will be allowed at a time.

The hospital says certain wards may need to be closed to all, except individually approved compassionate visiting.

The Emergency Department remains open, however people with flu-like symptoms are asked to attend their GP.
