Flu outbreak in Dublin Hospital

St James's Hospital in Dublin has restricted visting for this week due to an outbreak of flu.

Friends and family of patients are asked to defer from all non-essential visits.

No children will be admitted and only one visitor is allowed at a time.

The hospital says certain wards may need to be closed to all except specially approved compassionate visiting.

The Emergency Department remains open, however people with flu-like symptoms are asked to attend their GP in the first instance.
