Gardaí suspect Waterford fires are arson attacks

Gardaí are investigating a suspected arson attack on two buildings in Waterford city.

No injuries have been reported and gardaí are have preserved the scene for a forensic examination.

Willie Moore, who is on the board of management with Ballybeg Community development project told WLR: "I know the lads out here in the GAA club, they are so proud. They had a great year this year, they won the eastern final and they got to the county final intermediate, and that's a big achievement to them.

"The youth club are only after getting their premises done up, and that's gone now. Where do we go from here?

"We'll have to find places for them, because you can't just close it down overnight."
