Powering Kindness Week raises €130,000

Powering Kindness Week has drawn to a close, with the charity Childline being declared the winner.

Since last Saturday, kindness has swept through the country with thousands of kindnesses pledged to Marie Keating Foundation, Irish Heart Foundation and Childline.

Some of the acts of kindness included a young girl donating her pocket money to a homeless person, commuters leaving change in ticket machines for the next person; and motorists stopping and helping others with flat tyres or who'd run out of fuel.

Electric Ireland's Powering Kindness fund amounted to €130,000, the bulk of which goes to Childline.
