Gardaí have arrested a man after a serious stabbing incident in the Latchford area of Dublin last night.

Gardaí have arrested a man after a serious stabbing incident in the Latchford area of Dublin last night.

At approximately 2.45am, a man aged in his 30s was discovered with a number of apparent stab wounds at Littlepace Road, Dublin 15.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and removed by Ambulance to Connolly Hospital.

His condition is now understood to be stable.

During a follow-up search by investigating gardaí, a 32-year-old male was arrested at a house in Latchford Park short time later.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

The scene is preserved for a technical and forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing.
