Issues identified at Maternity unit of a Galway Hospital

Maternity services at a Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co Galway have become the latest to be probed. It follows the deaths of two babies, and oxygen deprivation to five others.

Deficiencies in care have been identified at Portiuncula Hospital in Galway after two babies died and five others suffered oxygen deprivation.

A review into these cases identified a number of care issues at the hospital in Ballinasloe between February and November 2014.
