Hospital: More than 25% of child pedestrian deaths due to vehicle rollovers

Parents and caregivers should be given more education on the risks to children of "rollover deaths", according to researchers from Temple Street Children's University Hospital in Dublin.
Their study found 13 of the 45 pedestrian deaths involving children in 2013 were caused by low-speed vehicle rollovers.
Incidents were most likely to involve children under the age of three and happen in the summer and at weekends.
Researchers say efforts to reduce the number of cases should include education, separating play areas from driveways, and sensors on vehicles that alert drivers to nearby objects.
