The Dublin fire brigade says a blaze at a disused cinema has been brought under control.

Firefighters were called at around 6pm this evening after the building on the South Circular Road went up in flames.

Six fire trucks attened the scene, but there are no reports of injuries.

The 1,600-seat Rialto cinema opened in November 1936 but closed in the early 70s.
