Kildare crash victims to be laid to rest today

Niamh Doyle and Ashling Middleton will be laid to rest this afternoon in Kildare and Carlow.

The women both aged 19 were killed when the car they were passengers in collided with a van near Athy on Tuesday night.

Yesterday, the funerals of two others killed in the crash – 20-year-old Chermaine Carroll and 19-year-old Gemma Nolan, both from Carlow - took place.

All four attended St. Leo's College in Carlow.

A poem about aspirations, written by Ashling when she was in 6th year, was read out at Gemma Nolan's funeral yesterday:

The funeral of Niamh Doyle will take place at the Holy Family Church, Askea at 12pm.

A requiem mass will be held for Ashling Middleton at 2pm in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballycane in Naas.
