Hogan refuses to comment on Kelly's criticisms of water charge set-up

Phil Hogan is refusing to comment on complaints that he made mistakes in his handling of water charges.

Now an EU Commissioner, Mr Hogan would not be drawn on the comments by Environment Minister Alan Kelly.

Before Christmas Minister Kelly said his predecessor could have handled the issue better.

But speaking in Dublin this morning, Commissioner Hogan would not be drawn on the complaints.

Mr Hogan said: "Well Minister Kelly is now in charge of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, and he is doing an excellent job.

"Thank you very much."
