Man dies in Kilkenny quarry accident

A man has died in an industrial accident in Co Kilkenny today.

It happened at a quarry near Freshford at 12.30 this afternoon.

The 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to St Luke's Hospital.

The scene was preserved for a forensic examination.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
