Garda hospitalised, man arrested, after high-speed car chase in Dublin

A man has been arrested and a garda hospitalised following a high-speed chase through Dublin city.

Shortly after 8pm last night, a van - which had been stolen - failed to stop at a garda checkpoint in Ronanstown.

Gardaí pursued the vehicle through town and a 22-year-old man was arrested on Patrick Street.

A garda received leg injuries during the incident, and was taken to the Mater Hospital.

He has since been released.

The male driver is being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station.
