Bodies of man and woman recovered in search for missing homeless woman

Gardaí have confirmed that the bodies of a man and a woman have been pulled from the River Lee near Cork city centre.

They were recovered by Naval divers late last night, following the search for a 27-year-old homeless woman who went missing.

Gardaí are not treating the deaths as suspicious, and post mortems will be carried out.

A spokesperson from Anglesea Street Garda station said that the bodies had been recovered by the Port of Cork sign on Custom House Quay in the city.

The man has yet to be identified, but it is understood he was originally from near Skibbereen in West Cork.
