A 94-year-old man has been killed in a three car crash in Wexford.

A 94-year-old man has been killed in a three car crash in Wexford.

He was a passenger in a car driven by an 80-year-old woman.

The collision took place on a minor road at Gurteenminogue Lower, Murrintown shortly before 5pm. The victim was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car and the two occupants of a second car, a 27-year-old woman and a girl aged 4, were also taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The occupants of the third car were uninjured.

The road is currently closed to traffic to facilitate a forensic exam and the Coroner has been notified.
