Motorcyclist dies in Dublin crash

A 44 year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision in Dublin earlier today.

The crash involving - a car and a motorbike- happened on Ballymount Road Lower in Walkinstown just after 2.30pm

A 44-year-old man was seriously injured and he was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a 60-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Gardaí remain at the scene while they carry out a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Crumlin Garda station.
