Head of corporate social responsibility at Bank of Ireland Audrey Nolan explained what they have being doing to prepare for today's event.
"Over the last number of weeks, our staff have been involved in putting together food hampers, fundraising for wishlist presents, hospital bags and hostel bags, and that's been taking place right across the bank in our branches in every community in Ireland
"We're also inviting members of the public to drop their presents off and we'll be bringing those across to St Vincent de Paul throughout the day.
"We have the largest giving tree in Ireland, it measures over 35ft."
