Pedestrian hit in Athlone road accident dies in hospital

A 24-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car in Glasson Village, Athlone last Wednesday morning at 8am.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to Tullamore General Hospital and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she passed away yesterday evening.

A post mortem is to be arranged.
