The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to the family of a young Irish man after he was found dead in a hotel in India.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to the family of a young Irish man after he was found dead in a hotel in India.

Brendan Devenney, who was in his 20s and believed to be from Mullingar, was found unconscious by hotel staff in Mumbai on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

A post mortem has been conducted.
