Regional airports have been awarded €2m in support funding.

The money will help airports meet their core management and operations costs.

The latest payments, under the Regional Airports Programme, brings the total funding for 2014 to €13m.

The Minister for Transport Pascal Donohoe, says Ireland has submitted a draft of its Regional Airports Programme - in respect of Knock, Waterford, Kerry, and Donegal Airports - for the period of 2015 to 2019.

Minister Donohoe, says the programme aims to allow the airports become self-sufficient within 10 years.
