Marie Farrell has claimed a detective working on the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder investigation stripped naked and asked her for sex.
The shopkeeper from Schull, Co Cork is being cross examined as part of Ian Bailey's action against the State and Garda Commissioner for alleged wrongful arrest on suspicion of killing the French film producer in 1996.
Marie Farrell today claimed one of the detectives in the du Plantier investigation came around to a doctor's house she used to clean, stripped naked in a downstairs bedroom and asked for sex.
Under cross examination she repeatedly denied making this up but said she couldn't be sure of the date happened in 1997 or 98.
She said the reason she had not before revealed this "dark secret" was that she was friends with Jim Fitzgerald's wife and didn't want to cause her embarrassment.
She says Detective Fitzgerald is the garda coached her to make false statements that Ian Bailey was intimidating her.
