Gusts of up to 130kms per hour as weather warnings stay in place

Weather warnings remain in place today as the country is battered by strong winds.

Met Éireann has an orange alert in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare until tomorrow morning

There is a yellow warning for Munster, Leinster, Cavan and Roscommon.

Forecaster Eoin Sherlock said: "For coastal counties from Donegal to Clare we have an orange warning in place for strong winds of up to 70kms with gusts of up to 130 kms per hour.

"For the rest of the country, there will be gusts of up to 110kms per hour."
