An investigation has been launched after 130,000 cigarettes were seized at Dublin Airport.

They were discovered on Friday as a result of cargo profiling by Revenue's Customs Service.

The 'RGD' brand cigarettes, which originated in Greece, had been described as 'school goods'.

They have a retail value of almost €69,000 and represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €50,000.
